2024 Introductory Course for Standard Practice (GxP)

The 2024 Introductory Course for Standard Practice (GxP Course) intends to provide training on international standard of quality for vaccine and biomedical product development and manufacturing known as Good Clinical, Manufacturing and Laboratory Practice (GCP, GMP, GLP – together GxP) and the basics of biosafety. Other standards not formalized by the International Committee for Harmonization (ICH) include a guideline for Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP). Trainees who wish to participate in this course will be required to have up to 6 years of experience in biomanufacturing, or relevant field.

Course Information (In-person training, Republic of Korea)

  • Course Content: Good clinical, manufacturing, laboratory practice (GCP, GMP, GLP) and biosafety for adherence to international standard of quality in vaccine and biomedical product development.
  • Course Duration: 15 working days, (3 calendar weeks)
  • Faculty: Area-specific experts
  • Hours of Training: 120 hours including didactic sessions, case study activities, excursion, and tests
  • Excursion Sites: Hospital clinical centers, biomedical product development and research sites, manufacturing sites
  • Target Trainees: 150 trainees from Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs).
  • Trainee Qualification: Technician, engineer, scientist, and manager with up to 6 years of experience in biomanufacturing, or related experience
  • Certificate of completion: Certificates will be issued if trainee participation exceeds 90% of the whole training, which will be assessed through exams.

2024 Hands-On Training for Upstream Process in Cell-Based Vaccine Manufacturing

The 2024 Hands-On Training for Upstream Process in Cell-Based Vaccine Manufacturing is a 5–6-week program (including a pre-online training course) at the International Vaccine Institute (IVI) and the Korea Biopharmaceutical CMO Centre (K-Bio CMO), targeting 20 individuals and focusing on the upstream process in cell-based vaccine manufacturing.

The purpose of the training is to enhance the technical knowledge and capabilities of vaccine and biopharmaceutical manufacturers from LMICs in the processes of vaccine research, development, and manufacturing. The focus is on providing extensive hands-on training in industrial facilities, enabling participants to gain practical experience and a deeper understanding of the intricacies involved in vaccine production.

Course Information (In-person training, Republic of Korea)

  • Course Content: Didactic training on overall vaccine development process and hands-on training on upstream process development including cell culture, virus infection, harvest & clarification.
  • Target Trainees: 20 Trainees from Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs).
  • Trainee Qualification: Technician, engineer, scientist, or manager in biomanufacturing or a related field, with up to 6 years of experience.

2024 Hands-On Training for mRNA Vaccine Manufacturing

The 2024 Hands-On Training for mRNA Vaccine Manufacturing is a 7-week program (including a pre-online training course) at the Korean National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training (K-NIBRT) and the Hwasun site (K-VCAST and JBRC), targeting 20 individuals and focusing on mRNA vaccine manufacturing and regulatory affairs.

The purpose of the training is to enhance the technical knowledge and capabilities of vaccine and biopharmaceutical manufacturers from LMICs in the processes of vaccine research, development, and manufacturing. The focus is on providing extensive hands-on training in industrial facilities, enabling participants to gain practical experience and a deeper understanding of the intricacies involved in vaccine production.
